After his studies in viticulture and oenology in Bordeaux, Philippe LESPY has obtained a PHD in grape varietals biology and physiology, majoring in vineyards flowering. Philippe worked more than 8 years for Baron Philippe de Rothschild SA (owner of the Bordeaux 1rst Growth Mouton Rothschild), Château Lagrange in Saint Julien and Château Serilhan in Saint Estèphe, France. Later, he practiced as well in Burgundy and internationally as the Head of the Domaine de la Zouina in Morocco. Since 2013 Philippe is our wine maker and CEO. Building on the expertise of our Georgian viticulturists, his priority has been to bring our vineyards up the highest world class level and give to our wines an international standard of quality, while respecting their Georgian essence and style.
Graduated from the faculty of Wine Technology; major – winemaker.From 1996, he was working in Tsinandali winery of Kakheti region. He was involved in wine-making and aging process.Since 2001 to date he is wine cellar manager and wine production engineer in charge of the pre-bottling operations with GWS Company.
1978 – a winemaker with “Telavi 2” winery; After establishment of GWS in 1991, he was employed as chief winemaker.In final years of his career, he was in charge of the traditional Georgian wine making method - Qvevri. In 2016, Mr. Simon Vepkhishvili passed away at the age of 72.
Mr. Nika Natroshvili
BA in food technology; did the Master’s program in wine trade in France and afterwards a course in organic farming in Switzerland. 2006-2009 was employed as a winemaker in the Georgian wine companies “Khareba”, “Shumi” and “Besini”. After doing a Master’s course in viniculture and terroir, was employed by GWS Company as the laboratory and quality control manager.
